Knowledge and Awareness of Sudanese Women toward Breast Cancer Detection

Background: The most frequent cancer in women is breast (BC), which unfortunately has high mortality Sudan whereas of the patients are diagnosed at late stages this disease sequence either due to a lack awareness or unavailability screening programs. objective: asses knowledge and detection among Sudanese 2022 - 2023. Material Methods: community representative descriptive cross-sectional study aged 17 70 years different provinces was included using semi-structural interview questionnaire. Results: out 200 participants, mean age 39.8 (±12.13) majority them were between 41 50 54 (27%). 120 (60%) had no prior experience with all 73 (36.5%) never heard self-examination for BC. resulted that dominant interviewed 181 (90.5%) good cancer, 161 (80.5%) believed must require early tumors. Breast changes, discharge, lump pain common prevalent reasons 95 (38.7%), 46 (18.7%), 45 (18.3). It clear education level significant effect on its diagnostic tools graduated having adequate comparison those not 92 (50.5%) 89 (49.2%) (p-value = 0.004 < 0.05). As well, central resident participants about 112 (70 %) other residents. Conclusion: BC increase increasing educational levels urban living, there an urgent need intensive programs availability centers authorities periphery areas.
